The 4th

We had a great 4th of July this year. After our pancake breakfast, the pool by our house had free swimming, so we went and took advantage. Emmy is a bit afraid of water (ie. she HATES taking baths) so we are trying to get her more used to it by swimming this summer.

It only took her about 15 minutes to get in the water this time (as opposed to almost an hour the first time) so I think we are making progress. :)

But first she made sure we all had our "lotion" on.

She had fun in the pool and then didn't want to get out. Although she still screamed through her bath when we got home.

Later we went over to my family's house for a yummy BBQ and fireworks. Here's Em with her first sparkler.

Yes, we did some little fountains and stuff while it was still light so Emily and Rivers could enjoy before they went to bed. Em loved them!

She kept saying, "So pretty! Do it again!"

And here is her festive outfit that she refused to wear on the 4th because she insisted on wearing her "Elmo shirt" Oh well, at least it was red. So she got to wear it the next day.

Any time that someone is in the bathroom, Emily either waits outside the door or knocks on the door until you come out. This time she was trying to look under the door at her daddy. She also does this anytime she hears the garage door open. She runs to it and says, "Daddy's home! Better go knock on the door!" It's hilarious!

Happy Independence Day!
