Stuff

So our neighbors upstairs have these dogs. They drive me NUTS! All day long all we hear is barking, running, and jumping coming from our ceiling. It especially annoys me when it's at like 5:30 in the morning. Yesterday I got fed up with it and wrote them a little (very nice) note. But this morning what did I wake up to? Barking and playing fetch. I don't know what else to do. I've already complained once to the management. I realize that apartment living isn't the epitamy of peace and quiet, but this is ridiculous! Plus, I think it should be against the law to have two large dogs in a small apartment anyway.

Speaking of dogs, I've noticed that most people who have dogs that live in our complex have not just one dog, but two!!??? I don't get it. And a lot of people have big dogs. In an apartment. I know I am not the fondest of dogs in the first place, but I don't get why anyone would do that. I understand why people would have a small dog in an apartment, but I just don't get the reason to have two large animals cooped up in such a small space.

General Conference was great. I just love it. Even though by the end of it I have a big list of things I need to work on and improve, I feel like it gives me a little boost and the strength to actually make those improvements and changes. I feel so blessed to have a prophet on the earth, and to hear through him what Heavenly Father wants us to hear.

I loved Elder Hales' talk about provident living. I know I need to be better about that. I loved Elder Scott's talk on the temple. I loved Elder Eyring's (I think) on covenants. I just loved being reminded that if we are doing our part, God will ALWAYS do His part. I also loved all the talks about gratitude and not focusing on the negative things in life. I know I do that far too often and I need to repent and be more positive and selfless.

Since it was snowing Saturday morning I had to do my long run on the treadmill at the gym. I got up at 6 to make sure I finished before Conference started. Good thing they were playing The Bucket List in the cardio cinema. I watched the whole thing while I ran my 9 miles. Plus the first 15 minutes of Stepmom. It actually wasn't too bad. And it was so nice not to be in pain after my long run. Who would have thought I could run 9 miles pain-free? This marathon is in 6 weeks and I can't wait for it to be over so I can have my weekends back.

I agree on the dog thing. I am not an animal person at all. I have just recently learned this about myself. I just can't imagine having two bigs dogs in an apartment. I can't even imagine having one in my house. Sorry you have to put up with that. I guess you could look for a pet free place, right? But you probably hate moving as much as I do.

I am impressed that you ran 9 miles on a treadmill. That would absolutely kill me. I considered doing my Saturday long run on the treadmill since it was blizzardy here, but I just convinced my running partner to wake up at 3:30am yesterday so we could run 11 miles and be home before the hubbies had to go. The crazy things we do to run races. My running partner will actually be out there next weekend for the SLC 1/2
