Spring break San Diego

For spring break my parents came to visit and we went to San Diego for a few days. So Fun! We stayed in Oceanside. The kids liked the arcade.

We went to Sea World. I really wanted to go this year before they nix the Shamu show next year, so my parents gave us tickets for Christmas. Plus, we got Zach and Emmy's tickets for free!

The kids were total stinkers at Sea World.

But they loved the beach. We went for a long walk one morning. Here they are examining tracks and then drawing them.

We found a playground on the beach. Emmy is getting to be quite the monkey bar champ.

We climbed out onto these rocks that stuck out in the ocean. Emmy was convinced there was treasure hidden somewhere in the rocks.

We hit the pool at the hotel. This girl could live in the pool.

We had a campfire on the beach.

Zach was content to eat sandy graham crackers.

We went back to Sea World for a second day and the kids were much better. They liked petting the sting rays and feeding the sea lions. Their favorite were the "cleaner fish" where you stuck your hand in the tank and the fish would come eat the dead skin off your hands.

But they especially loved the awesome playground at Sea World. They went on this jumping thing for a really long time.

We went to Old Town and visited the Mormon Battalion visitors center and also got some yummy Mexican food.

It was a great little trip!

The Three Piggy Opera

Emily's class performed the Three Piggy Opera. It was darling.

These are Emmy's best friends in her class.

February, Part 2

Emmy started a dance class.

We had a Valentine's party. Auntie Ginx brought some cookies for the kids to decorate.

And the awesome and delicious cake I made.

When you go for a walk and all four kids poop out and want to ride in the stroller at the same time. I love my Bob stroller!

Emmy says she is never tired. She feel asleep one Sunday afternoon at 4 on the couch.

February, part 1

We hadn't been to the beach in a couple months, so we went even though it was cold. We had a great time. Emmy got soaked. These kids love the beach!

Emmy and I started reading the American Girl books. I wanted a Samantha doll so bad when I was a kid. I asked for one every Christmas and birthday for 3 years, but I never got one. My sisters both got one later. My mom said she regretted not getting me one and would get my daughter one someday. I'm making Emmy read the books before she gets to get her doll.

My cousin Rachel and her family came to go to Disneyland. We tagged along for one of the days. It was fun! Emily really took to Lily and loved having a new friend. We also had them over for dinner one day and it was really fun!

We love to have visitors!

January

Just some January happenings...

Emily wanted to play Frozen Monopoly 12 times a day.

Emily passed off all her kindergarten sight words!

Citrus sale time. These random stands popped up everywhere in front of people's houses. You just leave your money in the box. Yummy!

More time at the park.

Emmy's 100th day of school. She had to make a shirt with 100 things on it. She chose stars.

I took Emmy to this thing called the Compassion Experience. Basically it was a recruitment effort to get people to sponsor kids in 3rd world countries. But you walked through replicas of their homes, schools, etc and could really see what life is like in those countries.
